From the streets of Berlin and Chicago comes a new kind of fast food joint called “Döner & Gyros”. Bringing you the Berlin Döner and Chicago Gyro, you can now discover what the Occidental version of the Shawarma is all about. Using two main colors, orange and white, the new concept feels fresh and young. Shawarma style meat with a wide array of vegetables, you can choose one of three bread types: Döner, Gyro or wrap. Then red meat or chicken and you’re good to go!
Operated by two chefs and a cashier, I arrived for a late three o’clock lunch. I liked the wood used all around, the warm lighting, the orange stripes and industrial touch...the food made me reconcile with Döner and Gyros after my last experience in Achrafieh which was way below average.
Very good food, very good quality, fresh looking wraps loaded with juicy and flavorful ingredients. The chicken gyro is really excellent, a very soft gyro bread loaded with juicy chicken and a yogurt sauce. Three rings of onions decorate the wrap while tomatoes add the sweetness this sandwich needs. When I thought no one could beat our local Shawarma I discovered this chicken gyro. No garlic, intensely flavorful, superbly juicy blended with their unique sauce makes the sandwich addictive.
Waw! The meat wrap is awesome! The beef döner is outstandingly delicious, really good, a sandwich I certainly didn’t expect to experience. Very thin dough that looks like a soft shell waffle wrap. With small squares covering it, it looks sexy! Tender like fresh Lebanese bread, the döner is loaded with thinly sliced juicy beef with enjoyable hints of sweetness. Adequate quantity of purple cabbage for the crunch, fresh greens and a load of enjoyable sauce. Bravo!
Yummy... the wrap! Toasted a little bit to be warm without becoming crunchy, a load of sauce, tender meat, crunchy vegetables and some spices to tickle your senses. Really yummy, loved this sandwich, the sauce, the spices, the freshness and juiciness. A sandwich I’d recommend to all my friends.
Now the fries, crunchy waffle fries, soft and crispy, non oily, salty and tasty. Good job guys!
My previous encounters with Gyros and Döners was never as good as it should be. I always considered this kind of food to be bulky and missing all the flavors needed to turn a street wrap into an enjoyable meal. Today I discovered that döners are tasty, that gyros are enjoyable and that this kind of food can offer all the flavors one expects in a tasty sandwich. I felt happy eating such a lovely lunch... sad because something so tasty is competing with our local Shawarma!
I recommend you try Döner & Gyros, you’ll love this place!
