Launched in 1997, YO! Sushi is a chain of restaurants inspired by traditional Japanese sushi bars and is famous for its conveyor belts. YO! restaurants serve sushi as well as warm traditional Japanese dishes, and offer a wide variety of beer, wine and sake, which can all be enjoyed in the restaurant or as a take-away. I’ve been to the one in Dubai already remembering very low quality and flavor. Passing by the French airport, I gave Yo Sushi another try.
Honestly, the rolls are not bad at all especially after encountering ten bad experiences at Sushi restaurants in Paris. Good quality rice, fresh seafood and good flavors. Other than that nothing else is worth mentioning.
Sit and wait to be served, the staff are overwhelmed and inattentive. Ask for a beer and get it without a glass. Ask for a glass and receive it very hot. Try to enjoy your sushi calmly while hearing the manager shout for her employees to hear her.
Other than being way too big to be inserted in your mouth, the rolls are good enough. Huge in size, they look ridiculous! Have a big mouth like mine, you’ll enjoy them, their non-sticky rice and fresh fish. The salmon sashimi is really good and certainly recommended.
How it works: choose a plate and pile them up in front of you. Black is for 2,5€, green for 2,75€ and so on until you reach 7,7€ for the yellow ones. Eight choices of plates for all cravings. Six plates and you’re done, feeling full and ready to move on because of the rolls' sizes. Along the way, they have a plate of fruits and another of chocolate truffles.
I honestly didn’t expect to enjoy my meal at Yo Sushi despite the slow and inattentive service. For Airport food, this place is good.
