“Mechwar Bel Wadi” Heads to South Lebanon

“Mechwar Bel Wadi” Heads to South Lebanon in One of Its Most Emotional Episodes Yet

"Mechwar Bel Wadi” presents one of its most powerful episodes to date. An episode unlike any before it.

For over four years, “Mechwar Bel Wadi” has travelled across Lebanon celebrating villages, traditions, food, history, and the people who keep the spirit of this country alive. But this time, the journey carries a different weight.

In this special episode that could be streamed on YouTube, Anthony Rahayel, Marc Beyrouthy, and Elie Ahwash head to South Lebanon, not only to document its beauty and resilience, but to stand beside the schools, students, teachers, and families who continue to fight for education and dignity despite their impossible and unforeseen circumstances.

From Marjaayoun to Ain Ebel, Debel, Rmeish, Qlayaa, Kawkaba and beyond, the episode captures raw and emotional testimonies from students attending classes during bombardments, teachers refusing to abandon their mission, and entire communities determined to remain rooted in their land.

These schools are more than educational institutions. They are the heartbeat of their villages. When a school survives, a village survives.

Throughout the episode, viewers witness stories of courage that rarely make headlines. Students studying online through fear and sleepless nights. Teachers continuing lessons while hearing airstrikes in the background. Families choosing to stay despite destruction because leaving would mean losing part of who they are.

The episode also sheds light on the urgent initiative launched in collaboration with Nawraj, L’Œuvre d’Orient, and Catholic schools in South Lebanon to help students continue their education and support schools struggling to remain open.

“This is not just about schools,” the episode reminds us. “This is about keeping life alive in the South.”

As always, “Mechwar Bel Wadi” remains faithful to its mission: telling Lebanon’s story through its people. But this Sunday, the message goes beyond tourism, food, and heritage. It becomes a call for solidarity, compassion, and hope.

Viewers around the world are encouraged to support the initiative through donations, sponsorships, educational aid, or simply by helping spread the message.

Because education is not a luxury.
And because the children of the South deserve classrooms, not fear.
