On the shores of the Mediterranean, located at Aishti by the sea, Zuruni is the Lebanese restaurant occupying the space where “black box restaurant” used to be a long time ago. Zuruni is a casual Lebanese restaurant serving local cuisine with a touch of fun and sexiness. An open space where the light comes from all sides, food storage occupying the shelves up on the first floor, decorative items and trees. A fresh space welcomes you for lunch and dinner.
I loved the food! A fresh fattoush with toasted bread rolls laid on top. A tasty hummus served like a mountain and surrounded by olive oil. Feta cheese with fresh thyme. Hummus with meat and a load of fried pines. A refreshing Tabbouleh, tajen, Kebbeh and much more. I liked almost everything, especially the fatteh and savory baklava.
Cold Laban on top of a generous portion of Kabab meatballs, crunchy toasts, and cashew nuts. A new approach to Fatteh which I fell in love with. The baklava is even greater; meat baklava with crunchy puff pastry and a drizzle of sweetness and a load of pistachio.
Good food, all the way and yet dessert was not served: the knefeh fondue is a big hit, a signature. Melted cheese, bread crumbs, and sesame. Heated, the ingredients melt, ready to be enjoyed in a mini kaaka. I also loved the pancake katayef, three layers of them between layers of fresh Kashta.
