A survey of the top 10 food destinations, as voted by 27,000 international travelers was released with Italy winning the gold medal.
Italy won the gold medal for the number one foodie destination in the Hotels.com survey, thanks to the likes of pizza, pasta and gelato. France took silver, having easily found a way into travelers' hearts with its pastries and baguettes and Michelin-starred restaurants. Japan, famous for its sushi, sashimi and tempura, took the bronze medal, while mainland China ranked fourth in the survey, followed by Spain, USA, Mexico, Thailand, Taiwan and India.
