Chez Sophie, what can say about this special place in Mar Mikhael, Lebanon.  In a stand-alone home like location, I believe that Chez Sophie is one of the best places in Lebanon? Looking around town, you can tell that many are trying to copy it, compete with it... even international names, but will they be able to do so?

The best thing I like about this place is that it's small, cozy for the connoisseurs and the amateurs of Sophie's cuisine.? The sommelier and head waiter, Sophie's husband is someone who toured the world and had the chance to work with the biggest names in the restaurant and food industry. He knows a lot and has a consistent experience. You'll enjoy a conversation with him, sharing moments. The last time we went to Chez Sophie, which was our seventh time, my family and I had the chance to be one of the first to try the new menu. I was already in love with the old menu but couldn't resist the excitement of trying out their new items and their new creations.

The new menu is divided as before into entrees and salads, fish dishes, I Nostri Primi Piatti, meat dishes and desserts. We started with a complementary bite and that was an Agnoli in Brodo (a piece of veal floating in a chicken consomme) that was delicious. Since we were eight on the table, looking at everyone's plate is like trying the complete the menu.

Let me take you around the table...

Angus beef Carpaccio with Thai style mango beef decorated with nuts and sliced green onions; Seafood ravioli with cream of cabbage and shellfish bisque crispy shrimp rolls, green salad, basil mango Yuzu Vinaigrette; Smoked salmon label rouge, brioche, sour cream, Lumpfish eggs; Cheese ravioli with cream of Parmesan, Wagyu filet MB6 served with green beans; Braised beef, confit vegetables, potato mousse line infused with truffle oil. And the item that marked me the most was their home-made pasta alla bolognese (Mal Tagliali alla Bolognese flacon am Belle-Mere). This is a very unique dish composed of meli-melo pieces of fresh pasta and a unique signature sauce.

Everything was delicious as usual, nothing negative to be said. This time, and after trying other restaurants around town, I can safely confirm that Chez Sophie is the best.
