I was honestly amazed as I stepped into Nafissa Sweets. I stood there watching hundreds of customers walk in by the minute for their Knefeh. If you think you know what knefe really tastes like, think again. What I tried at Nafissa was out of this world, a knefe prepared live a-la-minute.
At Nafissa Sweets, knefe is not just a morning treat but more of a craving people eat and enjoy at any time of the day. With no exaggeration, an average of one tray is sold by the minute.
Opened for four years now, the knefe is prepared in front of you. The cheese and knefeh mix are baked in rotary grills, turned around and spread with sugar syrup and topped with nuts. That's the main difference, the mixed nuts.
I had one plate of "Na3em" and another of "Khoshon", two kinds of Knefeh one with esmalliyeh and another with grilled flour topping the molten cheese, a superb kind of cheese soaked with sugar syrup. So unbelievably yummy!
I was in love, in love with what I tasted. The experience was something unreal happened inside; my emotions were trembling. It's the kind of food you can't but eat at least once in your life to understand the feeling.
The mix of ingredients, the different textures, the elastic cheese, the crunchy semolina... Oh my God.
It is recommended, highly recommended.
