Walls covered with wood, fish displayed in boxes, fishing ornaments, and many other nautical decorative items. Marius & Jeanette, a renowned restaurant in Paris serves a gourmet selection of seafood prepared by exceptional chefs. You feel transported the minute you walk in, dimmed lights, decorated table covers with lines of yellow and blue flowing on the table napkins. Relaxing seats, leather and dark wood, I was sure to have a pleasant experience tonight... and it was!
We were taken care of by a gentle lady from Lebanon who recognized our language the minute we walked in. Yolla is much more than a waitress; she helps you enjoy the moment. Crunchy and fresh bread, butter with homemade Tarama of codfish.
Loved the food!
- Gourmet spring rolls, yes gourmet because they’re not your usual deep fried and oily spring rolls, they have a particular class to them exploding with flavors.
- The fried calamari... Oh My Goodness, so tender and risky at the same time, aromatic and flavorful.
- Had the tartar of salmon and white fish which I found fresh; even though the onions are a bit too prominent, adding to the lemon and olive oil made the plate taste better. I also added salt and pepper, elevating its flavor to another dimension. Fresh and tasty quality but lacking some flavors; add salt, pepper, lemon and olive oil.
- Fresh oysters can be found here which I enjoyed as well. You are offered a bowl of salt water and lemon afterward to clean your hands.
Main plates followed, another plate of calamari. Gourmet spaghettini with saffron and clams slide from the fork and onto your tongue. An exceptional lobster with grilling flavors has a juicy heart. An enjoyable seafood experience I’ll surely repeat.
