This place has been around for 47 years now and I have never heard about it before. Kabab Iskandar is a humble shop on the busy Dora highway, known by many for their Kabab sandwiches - just one kind of sandwich... You can choose between four skewers, five skewers and six skewers to be filled in a sandwich with tomatoes, spicy sauce and parsley.

Walk in and find a coca-cola fridge, a metallic charcoal grill, a tiny charcoal grill used and reused, ventilated to work faster. Three men work behind the counter. Honestly, the owner is arrogant owner and believes he prepares the world's best sandwich. He is not too pleasant to open a discussion with.

Not so welcoming, the owner insisted that no pictures are allowed. He ended up pushing me out.

The sandwich is fulfilling and only for LBP3,500; You're transported back in time while enjoying this "one" sandwich.

I ordered one of each kind mentioned above to check the difference. The bread is soft, well peppered, spicy and fatty, the kebab sandwich is indeed good. Order the 6 skewer sandwich which is rich and full of taste - tender and juicy meat with a load of fat explodes under the palate along side the tomatoes that add juiciness, the parsley that adds freshness and some spices. It is hot but enjoyable.

Simple yet good, visit this place if you're hungry for the experience and history as well for the sandwich price.

Kabab Iskandar is a small shop facing the "Uniterminals" Dora fuel tanks on the seaside road. It's an authentic experience one must try at least once.
