Just Imagine: Honey, Salt, Almonds, Chocolate, Milk and Nougat!

Be sure that this is not an advertisement but the need to share with you my secret love. While traveling across Europe, I discovered the latest invention by Toblerone, the famous Swiss chocolate maker who introduced a mouthwatering sin. Their newest bar released in the duty free shops is the Toblerone Crunchy Salted Almond with Swiss milk chocolate, salted caramelised almonds and honey with almond nougat. This new chocolate is still not available on the official Toblerone website.

It all starts with the triangular long box and its unique colors: I liked the blue and gold simple catchy design. The nutrition panel on one side  is really easy to read. The look of the bar is the same as the classic milk chocolate bar but looks more attractive. Inside is a passionate mix of premium ingredients. Just unwrap the foil to feel the aromas of milk, sweetness and chocolate. The bite is soft and has a lot more crispy bits in it than I was accustomed to in the other members of the family. Even the crunch is different; a blend of Californian nougat and almonds exploding their flavors after every crunch with a soft salty feel embracing the ingredients with love. The chocolate is fudgy and has a lot of milky flavors to it, mostly it holds together the inclusions. The nougat pieces are crispy sticking together with the unique Mexican honey,Toblerone is known to use. The almonds are a little larger and have a nice, fresh crunch to them.

Don't expect to feel the salt like you do in a bowl of popcorn. The salt is adequately hidden beyond the sweet ingredients which activates your taste buds with a gentle feel and your brain analyses it with sophistication. A chocolate that is worth appreciating as it has lots of merit. Inside is 67% of almonds and 28% of cocoa solids.
Just imagine: honey, salt, almonds, chocolate, milk and nougat! Not as easy as you might think, creating such a excellent piece of heavenly sweet. Pass by any duty free shop around Europe and buy yourself one. This week they are having a special offer selling two bars of the big sizes for $20 both.

Did you know?: Toblerone originates from the chocolatier's family name "Tobler" combined with "torrone", the Italian word for nougat. There are a great many legends about Toblerone’s triangular shape. Chocolate lovers around the world have always believed that Theodor Tobler took his inspiration from his mountainous homeland, and in particular the Matterhorn with its characteristic triangular shape.
