I'm finally trying the world famous restaurant: the much talked about Italian cantina created by none other than Jamie Oliver himself. Jamie has taken Italian cuisine to another level adding fun to the world famous food of Italy. Set in old pub-style decor, Jamie's Italian waitress hands you a colorful menu like a Disneyland comic book; a simple choice with simply presented dishes.

A paint bucket for the cutlery, two water glasses and a pepper mill, a noisy environment, a menu without photos... nothing that looks Italian to start. I was so intrigued to try their food.

I started with a salad. A small plate filled with greens and a tiny quarter of burrata. Tender mozzarella burrata with arugula and some pomegranate to add a touch of color on a balsamic dressing. Your average salad any housewife would prepare.

And we waited... thirty long minutes to be served... service is really slow!

  • The carbonara: I've had better, it's over cooked, lacks sauce, needs more salt and the spaghetti came stuck one to the other. Not bad but nothing fancy.
  • Fries: uncooked and extremely oily. They need more cooking, less oil and more crispiness.
  • The crab spaghetti: close to the ones I eat at home when I'm hungry. They're simple and lack that extra mile of super duper flavor that will make me want to come back for them. Avoid eating from this plate when it's cold; becomes too oily and unpleasant.
  • The burger: your average burger hosting a juicy premium quality patty, fresh tomatoes and sauce but can't say the same about the bread. It lacks smoothness and softness, is chewy and heavy.

Didn't even feel like staying for dessert... Overrated! Expected more from the name, a quicker and more professional service with more flavor to the food. It's Jamie Oliver after all !!!!!
