I was so excited to be one of the first to experience FICO, Eataly’s Biggest food experience and the world’s first food-themed park spread on more than 100,000 square meters. FICO opened in November with more than 45 restaurants, and food stops, five interactive experiences, daily shows, kids entertainment and live cooking kitchens. FICO is a must visit at least once in your lifetime.
At first, I imagined FICO to be a theme park, something like Disneyland for foodies but it isn’t. It’s the biggest supermarket of food and the best way to understand Italy and the Italian food culture. Open kitchens show you how beer, cheese, mortadella, parmesan and balsamic vinegar are produced among other things. The live focaccia kitchen grabbed my attention, the 100 different wine bottles you can taste from, the restaurants open kitchens, the rich choice of Italian specialties and the section dedicated to Italian made home utensils.
Choose to walk or ride a free bike; free entrance, roads for the bicycles, spacious areas to relax and enjoy the experience, great food, and mouthwatering desserts; FICO is a recommended family get-together.
Browsing the internet, I couldn’t find enough data and photos about FICO this is why I traveled all the way to Bologna for you to enjoy 750 photos and a long video showing every single corner of this magical city of food.
