Every Sunday, brunch is served until 2 pm at this iconic mansion located on the Cayuga Lake. Soothing music, beautiful weather, refreshing drinks and smiling staff. Enjoying the positive vibes, great colors of nature and breathtaking scenery, I sat to have some food. Relaxed and appreciating the moment, I ordered some drinks: the Basil Gimlet (square one basil vodka, lime juice, and sugar) and the Purple Haze (Hendricks gin, simple lavender syrup, lemon, free brothers orange bitters).
It’s a White House declared with red bricks facing a terrace and garden on the lake. An old historical hotel with a clientele that’s posh and aged.
“De-Li-Cieux”, Ruben’s sandwich is outstanding! A sandwich of dreams is available at Aurora: crunchy rye bread buttered to perfection and low added with a dozen layers of meat with a crown of red cabbage sauerkraut. Mayonnaise adds the needed juiciness, a taste of pickles, end notes of spices... textures, flavors, love, and passion: a sandwich of dreams. The sandwich comes with sweet potato chips on the side.
Scrambled eggs with maple bacon, a side of hash browns and buttered rye bread. Cheesy, loaded, a light chewiness and the juiciness of the eggs, that thing is really good!
Wow! The pancakes are heavy. Sour cream pancakes and blueberry compote on top with a side of maple syrup.moist and tender but not fluffy, the pancakes are good but not as good as the unique sandwich.
An experience I’ll recommend to my friends.
