It’s like one of those Paris or New York spots renowned for breakfast and brunch. The vibe is different from anything else I experienced the last two days, the mood and the menu. Music, high ceiling, pleasant lighting, and a varied menu of creative choices; Zompano has it all.
Choose to sit inside or on the sidewalk under the red curtains. Order breakfast, a coffee and relax. Soothing music tunes, a fresh breathe of air... anything to make you travel and let go.
Choose the Breakfast menu: fresh bread, butter, homemade jams, honey, avocado, vegetables, tomato, eggs, cake, and coffee. Or order a la carte: eggs and salmon, avocado toast, open face toast, feta pie, Greek yogurt, pancakes, prosciutto eggs to name a few.
I ordered:
- Soft boiled eggs with salmon, avocado and cream cheese.
- Twisted pie with feta cheese, honey, and sesame.
- Tiganites with cinnamon and ice cream, butterscotch with apple.
- Open face toast with provolone, baby spinach, avocado, pickled onions, and poached eggs.
Delicious food! Excellent fluffy bread, good quality fatty salmon, ripe avocados, melted provolone cheese, crunchy feta roll, and the cinnamon chips I fell in love with.
Top! Never thought of a rolled feta pie; crunchy, drizzled with honey and stuffed with hot feta cheese. The combination of three things; saltiness, sweetness, and crunchiness is exceptional. The bread bites with butterscotch and cinnamon ice cream drew a smile on my face.
Two thumbs up for such great food! I was enchanted... a must-try when visiting Athens.
