On Nahr el Mot a new bakery has opened. Yan is Armenian, he has a wide selection of breakfast bites of which the signature Armenian items like Labneh Beajine, Harra, Soujok and Basterma. I even found Tahinov Hats.
Manouche zaatar with Labneh and vegetables, juicy and tender with a light feel, watery Labneh, fresh vegetables and light bodied zaatar. I liked the dough, not too thick and not too thin, fluffy and relaxed.
Tahinov hats are the Armenian signature tahini rolls with sugar and sesame paste. I like it, the sweetness and unconventional flavor kick that differentiate it from average manakish.
Try the mini bites especially the wild zaatar triangle and the cheese sambousik.
Majdoulé and double-Creme closed cheese Manouche topped with sesame is a must-try as well.
I like the cleanliness of this bakery that doesn’t look like village eateries but actually follows strict hygiene rules.
