It’s been closed for a very long period for renovation, months of waiting to upscale this lounge which was in fact very wide but not classy enough. Now open for public, Beirut’s biggest lounge is the proof of a country continuously searching to evolve. With more than a hundred lounges in my repertoire, I can proudly say that Beirut’s new creation is a beautiful architecture magazine should be writing about.
It was wide but cold, a restraint choice of food, old style dirty bathrooms, an empty kids corner, several unneeded televisions, no private corners and no relaxing sofas... the new lounge has it all! Design, simplicity, style, luxury, warmth, and freshness at the same time and most importantly life.
Walk under the wide atrium and find yourself a seat. Red of black leather, individual or big sofa, there is something for everyone. Plug your phone, recharge while you grab a bite.
Food is an essential change to this lounge. On a Long Island comes food 2.0! Fresh fruits, croissants, labneh, cereals, baklava, grains, dried fruits, cheese and cold cuts, pancakes, foil with hummus, tomatoes, and carrots, drinks, alcoholic beverages, and champagne.
Happy to have such a quality in Beirut, a high standard every visitor or tourist needs to see; what a shocking contrast between this, the landing views and the old Airport road... this is Lebanon’s diversity in one sentence.
