Harry’s Bar, the world famous Harry’s Bar opened in Beirut but unfortunately couldn’t continue for long. I’ve heard endless stories about this iconic brand which started in Venice in 1931 and expended around the world — located by the river facing the Ponte Vecchio. Handled by waiters wearing white tuxedos, in a restaurant decorated with wood and pink table covers, I sat to have lunch.

Burgers, Italian specialties, meat, and chicken; a diverse menu to satisfy all cravings. Smooth jazz playing in the backgrounds, three choices of butter to nibble on and a pizza roll to open up your appetite. A crunchy pizza roll feeling like Spanish churros yet savory and soft on the inside with a crispy envelop.

Chicken salad with a side of homemade mayonnaise. A kind of salad you eat at home, simple with no complication; Perfectly marinated chicken, fresh vegetables peeled in thin slices and a dose of mayonnaise. A good way to start your meal.

A huge burger landed on my table! Really huge, more than 200g of pure beef, artisanal bread, crisp vegetables and cheese with couple cherry tomorrows to decorate the top. Intense! Juicy, but too big! Needing a lot of sauce of which I only had ketchup and mayonnaise to add, the burger is made of good ingredients but isn’t blended correctly as one.

The club sandwich, thick, loaded, generous but a bit too much mayonnaise for my taste. I also tried the saffron risotto with asparagus and the clams spaghetti and liked them both.

I enjoyed my lunch managed but a professional staff; nice vibes, good food, and positive vibes. I can finally say that I tried the iconic Harry’s Bar if I don’t count the one we had in Lebanon.
