Located at the entrance of Whole Foods market, The 2nd is a bar selling alcoholic drinks, draft beers, and quick bites. Burgers and sandwiches, the beyond burger, pulled pork sandwich, pasta and salads, snacks, sides, and sweets. I loved the vibes of the place that do not feel like a supermarket eatery at all.
I enjoyed my meal which I accompanied by a bottle of sparkling water just because they don’t have Coke Zero or any sugar-free drinks; you can order a normal, natural coke drink instead.
The idea of having giant cauliflowers, fried like tempura, is a premiere for me; they call them cauliflower nachos. They are too big and dry; a sauce dip is missing. The pulled pork burger on another hand is delicious; a soft, sticky bun, a juicy and sweet load of pulled pork, purple cabbage and the needed amount of sauce.
Finally the “Beyond Burger,” that famous meat-copy vegetarian burger that became the food business latest trend. Tasting and looking like meat, the burger is made of soy and vegetables with a load of spices to mask unpleasant flavors.
A quick launch I enjoyed.
