Sufra is the latest creation in Amman providing you with the best food from the Jordanian table.
The menu is very wide divided into; Soup, dish of the day, hot mezza, seasonal greens (fresh pickings from the countryside typically enjoyed with flatbread and olive oil), mezza with olive oil, saj, fatte (traditional casserole with flatbread crumbs and a mix of the freshest ingredients), fukharat (clay pots baked slowly to perfection).
It was my first visit to Sufra and my first experience of Jordanian specialities. The Jordanians and Lebanese have a very close cuisine differed by adding more oil, more fat and maybe some spices.
We ordered to share: Grilled nabulsi white cheese, cheese sticks, sfeeha, gallayeh, loubia bezzait, hummus billahmeh, fattet batinjan, fattet jaj, fukharat lahmeh, fukharat jaj, stuffed spleen and some minor appetizers. Must of the plates contain garlic and onions but that was not a major issue since everything is really so delicious.
The restaurant ambiance as well, fresh, well-decorated, nice music, nice view, nice people, professional waiters... Everything that will make you want to visit it again. I really enjoyed it and will surely come back again; nothing that I can recall was negative.
