Spazio 77 is the highest located restaurant in Riyadh on the 77th floor of the Kingdom Tower. After visiting the building's mall, hotel and highest point with a nice view of the capital continue your tour with a fine diner at the Spazio.
The Spazio 77 is way too expensive. Are we paying for the view or the name? As a first impression, I was impressed by the oxygen room at the entrance of the restaurant, the Villeroy and Boch fine cutlery, the candle stands, the large bar, the projection at the bar, the 360 view and the levelling of the restaurant.
The menu is very diversified prepared by one of the most famous Michelin star chefs from Paris Alain Soliveres creating luncheons & dinner in Spazio restaurant. From Italian choices to sushi, meat, fish and desserts. As an Italian food lover with an allergy to onion, I couldn't choose any of a two pages choice of Italian dishes since all contain garlic. The waiter didn't even propose to create something for me without garlic.Unfortunately the staff takes orders, writes on the small paper they have and that's it.
Zero know how, zero training, zero professionalism for a fine dining place. We were served a warm crunchy bread that I liked with butter followed by our order. On the table there was a choice of broccoli soup, Brazilian veal, sushi and ravioli with some French fries. Everybody was satisfied when I asked them about the taste but I didn't hear the WAW effect. So it was nice not perfect. Honestly for a 35€ meat dish, it should be more than perfect. I ordered the 7 hours braised lamb shank with vegetables. Unfortunately two of us received it cold, very red and the vegetables are just for decoration. I was expecting much more of this dish. My friend ate 30 minutes after us since they forgot to get him his order. Here, with an incident like this, you expect an apology, a smile, an excuse, a gift, whatever's needed for such a high end place. By the way, the sushi is mouthwatering, I really liked it. Would I come back?
Yes. Since there are few hi-end restaurants in town to try something else, to enjoy the view again, but would really appreciate if things can be more professional for the price we are paying.
