"This hotel is bizarrely old, and it’s really unacceptable"

The Sands Hotel or Rimal is situated in the fashionable al-Hamra consulate area, within walking distance from the must see Tahlia commercial centers, supermarkets and shops, providing what you need and more.

Everyone knows that the owners are from Lebanese origins and the concept, food, waiters, service and decoration is Lebanese. The hotel was built a long time ago, maybe more than 20 or 30 years ago, and they are still receiving customers under those circumstances.  After opening the room door with this old key attached to a 19th century keychain, you discover magic. The air conditioning units are so old that their sound keeps you awake all night. Temperature cannot be adjusted on those units so you have to put it on and off every hour: staying awake is not an option, it’s a must.

Television units are those huge ones not available in the market anymore.  In the room, floor is old, beds, bathroom, lights, everything. Everything is just over used, and the best part, is this small old fridge in the middle of the room, it was hilarious.

As for the hotel, it’s the same story.  Do you remember the old metallic elevators with heavy doors?  Time stopped there!

Ah, I forgot the receptionist: A simple unprofessional employee without any knowledge in the hotel business.

Room Tip:  Ask for a room in the newly built part of the hotel, it might be better.
