Redeye Grill is an updated classic American restaurant, it is the place I tried and enjoyed the innovative sushi burger. The brasserie serves more than that...
Menu, printed on one large paper proposes a series of seafood specialities, sushi, salads as well as burgers and sandwiches.
Lunch started with bread topped with salt. It's a tasty warm mini baguette that's so addictive. Salt was even served at the table; it seems like a major thing around here.
In addition to the sushi burger, I ordered a few other tings.
Tuna tartar: Served in a bowl of ice, tuna cubes are mixed with wasabi and served with fried wonton chips on the side. Fresh fish, fresh flavors, crunchy wantons; lovely.
I also tried the fried calamari which should not be missed. Super spicy, I fell in love with its inner fluffiness and external crunchiness. The crispy sensation and the freshness. They're good and flavorful... the spicy feeling is long lasting.
Sushi here is different - a bit dry, the rice was a bit sticky, while the taste of fish was strong and you will also feel a faded sweetness.
Yellowfin tuna burger with aioli wasabi. A bun and a huge chunk of fish that was dry. There was nothing exceptional about it. I expected more innovation, more juiciness, more flavors.
I really enjoyed my lunch. The plates were well presented, unique and tasty. I'll remember the sushi burger for long as well as the fried calamari.
