Ray's Candy Store: A Shop Lost in Time
Non-smokers friendly
Sweet Tooth

It's a strange store indeed. With a 4.6 rating on Google Maps I wasted not time in heading to Ray's Candy Store! When I reached it, I was a little put off by the signs, the lights and the drawings... this shop is certainly unique! I think the photos speak for themselves.

Avenue A and 7th street is where Ray's Candy store is located. This tiny little place sells everything except candies. You will find hot dogs, chicken, fries, milk shakes and warm sundaes. Hand written signs are everywhere, photos cover the walls, colorful and cluttered... what a place!

There is a lady inside who takes the orders then prepares them one after the other. She uses no gloves and no apron... She looks like she's waltzing around her own home. I ordered a milk shake which tastes like the one at McDonald's, and a sundae that's exactly like the heavy and creamy one at McDonald's too.

I was happy to come across this place, to take photos and experience a store probably lost in time. But I'm not sure why it has a 4.6 rating.
