After several detours, long minutes driving around the tight roads of Verona, I reached a door, one old door where the hotel is located. I honestly didn’t know what to expect, an old hotel, a small boutique mansion, Romeo and Juliet style rooms... until the door opened. Palazzo Victoria is an experience every step of the way from the minute you check-in to the second you leave. Perfection is in the details, the artistic decor, the smell when you open the room’s door, their breakfast among other unique surprises.
Palazzo Victoria stands in the ancient heart of the city of Verona, which is today even more lively, just a few steps away from the Arena and directly on Corso di Porta Borsari, one of the main streets, full of elegant shops but also delightful restaurants and cafés, which ends in the sumptuous Piazza delle Erbe. Palazzo Victoria represents the co-existence over a thousand years of arts, cultures and architectural innovations: starting from the ancient Roman remains, which can be seen under the hotel and which make our hotel the first museum to visit when you arrive in the city, to the medieval frescoes and the present day with the splendid hall in exquisitely contemporary style, furnished with the sofas and armchairs by Gaetano Pesce, the unquestioned Maestro of Italian design. Palazzo Victoria today, with its inner courtyard in typical Veronese style, but also with the original Zen garden and with the spacious and definitely contemporary lobby, as well as with the spaces dedicated to leisure (our pool table is always ready for use!) aims to be a new square in Verona. A sort of agora which encourages different cultures to meet, inspired by the encounter between the different historical periods which can be clearly perceived inside the Palazzo. Undoubtedly elegant surroundings, but also pleasantly informal where technology, history and culture meet in harmony.
In that old street, comes a hotel with a funky and fresh design. Walk the corridor decorated with thousands of signatures from guests who passed by this place, and reach a vast atrium lit by a vast purple light lamp. A pool table, a terrace, a restaurant and a bar with access to the barbershop next door. This place oozes positive and soothing vibes that will make you want to stay here for long!
The first impression was great, and then I opened the room door. A fresh smell slaps you in the face relaxing every one of your muscles. A double bed, an ample bathroom with a bathtub, two windows, and a working desk. Loaded with amenities, slippers, and bathrobes, the room has everything you need for a weekend getaway. Left my luggage up there and went back down to enjoy this place. It’s cozy and romantic, calm and upscale at the same time. This is a hotel I’ll surely recommend to all my friends.
After a long and enjoyable night sleep I went down to breakfast expecting a simple experience like traditional hotels do; what I discovered is impressive!
Breakfast at the hotel is outstanding:

- One of the best croissants I’ve ever had in my entire life.
- The eggs are out of this world!
- Coffee is so good!
- And I can go on and on...
- Loved the munchkin Donuts! Adored the chocolate cake.
Poached eggs! One of the best-poached eggs I’ve ever had, a light taste of vinegar, a superb quality of eggs, cooked to perfection and presented on crunchy toast. I asked for a eggs Benedict with sauce hollandaise and was happy not to receive it because what I received is probably ten times better. I never imagined that simple poached eggs could taste as good.
Classical music in the room, jazz music at breakfast, another kind of music at the reception, professionally studied lights... I’ve rarely been impressed and this time I was.
