On the corner of 33rd and Lexington is a diner that looks so American that I felt like visiting. Located next to our hotel, it was a great choice to try out a local traditional heavy breakfast, like they do it in the States.
It's called Murray Hill Diner and it opens from 6am onwards. Calm with a soft music playing in the far background, the restaurant is divided into many tables surrounded by two benches. Typically American, like you've seen in the movies.
On the menu, printed on two long sheets, is a wide selection of eggs, eggs and omelets of all kinds. Eggs, omelets, a vegetarian omelet, combinations, California, garden salads and sandwiches. On the other page griddle specialties, French toast, waffles, bagels, pastry and beverages.
Strict and not too welcoming, the waiters come with a serious attitude to take the order.

- The donut was awesome! A fluffy donut more of a pillow glazed to perfection with a thin layer of sugar, airy, filled with air bubbles and tender, melting under the teeth. Big in size, this donut is fulfilling while putting a smile on your face. A real American deal.
- Mexican omelet: Eggs with jalapeños, peppers, tomatoes and MonterreyJack. A juicy piece of omelet spiced up with some strong jalapeños and served with potatoes on the side. Delicious combinations.
- The blueberry muffin is cut in half and served with jam and butter. Juicy and enjoyed with its crusty envelope and a collection of blueberries. They're so tasty.
- Chocolate chip pancakes, three layers of them, prepared a la minute with molten chocolate chips, a fluffy heart and a chewy texture. Add maple syrup and enjoy. What a start to the day!
- The creamy toast is a huge "no". Bread with butter, lots of it, and strawberries on the side. Too heavy and too fatty, lacking milk, sweetness and taste. Not my kind of order.
Good coffee is served a gogo, a generous cup, decent presentation and good prices. I loved today's start of day.
Although the service was not amazing, I still enjoyed the food. That's an American breakfast I've dreamt about.
