A new concept, amongst many other "Bowls" concepts around New York city, Mulberry & Vine is unique and has a different feel. The place is classy, neat, and looks fresh and trendy. It's that kind of upscale cafe where the decor is close to perfect with straight lines and muted colors... but in the end, you'll still only be ordering a bowl.
Located on 27th street, under road level, it is a long rectangular place. Brick walls with writing on, a bar with wooden tables and metallic stools. At the end is where the kitchen is. No photos, white and uncluttered, you smell and feel the freshness.
Choose romaine lettuce and spinach, noodles or kale, rice or mashed potatoes followed by one kind of protein. The noodles are well done, the greens are fresh, the rice adequately cooked and the chicken with white beans is really excellent. I loved the food, its presentation in plastic containers, the music and the price paid: $12 for a filling meal.
I like their plastic cutlery, the way things are presented, the open kitchen and soothing decor.
An interesting place for a quick lunch break.
