Known for its International Jazz Festival since 1967, Montreux welcomes international celebrities from all over the globe to experience music and good food. The Montreux Jazz Cafe has always been a meeting point welcoming guests in a magical ambiance. Yellow lights, wooden floor, wine bottles displayed and musical collectibles decorate the walls. There’s a central large dining table in the middle, a more intimate elevated room, and a third dining space before the bar.
They say that the burger is one of the best and the filet de perch was never removed from the menu.
Pass the restaurant to the bar; televisions, colors and vibrant music. I enjoyed taking photos which you can find in the gallery below. With a hundred youngsters chitchatting, I could barely walk inside.
Bread, three kinds of butter, capsicum sauce and Heinz mustard landed on the table. A basket of bread followed.
"Très, très, bon" I shouted out loud! Excellent food... the superfood salad served very cold is one balanced mix of ingredients. Ripe avocados, juicy pears, crunchy berries, explosive pines, and refreshing pomegranates. The colorful mix lays on a bed of fresh arugula. I also had the poke, poke without rice, more of a ceviche, strongly lemony and acidic with slices of kumquat and diced mangos to add some sweetness.
Indeed, the burger is not famous by mistake. It’s pure! The patty is juicy and red on the inside, the vegetables are crisp, the bun is soft and tenderly covered with sesame. I added a bit of mustard to double the pleasure. Filet de boeuf; tender meat with a body. I loved the sauce which I enjoyed with them fries as we do it at L’entrecôte de Paris.
Good food is served here but the music is too loud! Way too loud for us having dinner at the cafe. Live music playing inside at the bar sends its loud noise to the cafe.
