Every time I visit Saida, Mido's is an important stop for me. This morning I enjoyed some flavorful sandwiches made of fresh ciabatta bread and using fine ingredients. Roast beef sandwiches, the egg sandwich, the turkey sandwich and a choice of tuna, Kawarma, chicken, and Soujok.
- The egg sandwich: Scrambled eggs cooked without oil while preserving the juiciness, tomatoes, and cheese. A fine sprinkle of salt and pepper balanced the flavors. Mido's uses fine ciabatta bread. A tender bread, moist and fresh, not chewy, not bready and filled with layers of thick turkey, thinly sliced tomatoes, crunchy pickles, and mayonnaise. Mustard adds a touch and boosts the flavor. I loved this sandwich which leaves a long-lasting note on the palate.
- The roast beef sandwich: The same ciabatta bread stuffed with shredded roast beef and fresh vegetables. The thickest of Mido's sandwiches have a load of meat, mayo, lettuce, tomatoes, roast beef and mustard. They're good, really good and for only LBP6,000.
- The mushroom burger: soft bread, molten cheese and a moist patty with fresh mushrooms to add a touch of flavor. The chicken fajita was excellent, the tastiest of all, a load of cheese and tender chunks of chicken. Crispy chicken with cocktail sauce in a baguette. Turkey and cheese with mayonnaise and mustard.
- The Lebanese Sandwich: a Lebanese submarine sandwich with cheese, ham, roast beef, vegetables, and mustard! I love how tender it is on the inside, while toasted on the outside and with a touch of mustard that makes all the difference. It's so fresh, such good quality and feels home-grown.
