THE MET, the trendy cafe of the souks is one of the restaurants parts of the family of the Boubess Group of restaurants.

Serving up international cuisine with delicacies from all corners of the globe, The Met has put together a menu of dishes from France, Greece, Japan, Italy, India, Thailand, USA, Lebanon and the list goes on. In parallel, iconic and adapted visual elements were introduced into The Met's interior architecture. An urban setting emitting a subway vibe has been developed to complement the entity created.

Whether you're there to pick up a snack and a coffee to-go, to gather with friends and business partners, to try the sumptuous desserts, the rosemary veal or the fresh summer rolls, The Met is always packed to its walls with regulars and newcomers: It reminds you of Cozmo, its brother at the Bay. Here you can grab a stool in the express section, a booth in the dynamic indoors area or go AL-fresco on their terrace. The trick is to soak up the allure of the ambiance while you work your way to polishing off every last crumb in your plate. What I loved the most bout THE MET is its menu. Funky and colorful with different designs drawn by hand. Items featured are salads, pizzas, pastas, sandwiches, bites, starters and the salad bar.

It was my second visit at THE MET where I had the chance to try the MET burger (Sesame bun filled with a 220g grilled patty, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, cocktail sauce served with coleslaw and fries) as well as their mozzarella sticks and the loaded nachos. Their pizzas are delicious, even if you're full, you can't but finish the whole plate. I also liked their Edamame which looks very fresh covered with the right amount of grinned salt. Their sushi platter is rich and tasty, but I have a complaint again here, the pieces were too big to enjoy one at a time and I think that the rice was overcooked letting each to shatter into many pieces, mostly falling into the soya sauce small dish. It remind me of that at the Cozmo. Maybe its Boubess Group's strategy to have bigger bites of sushi that are more commercial and considered as the fast food sushi... I would prefer them to be smaller. For lunch the experience was very positive and entertaining, enjoying the decoration, the book shelves, the graffiti painted walls as well as the calm smooth music. On the next visit, for breakfast I tried their chocolate cake and the plain croissant but was not that happy with the presentation. The pieces come served on their plates: that's it. simply, feeling like your are grabbing a bite at home. I think it needs some decorative passion and some breakfast assortments to make the experience different and memorable. The taste was normal as well, nothing out of the box.

Passing by the souks for a coffee or a quick lunch, THE MET is one of my favorites.
