Down at the bay, Maris Kitchen is the hotel’s main restaurant. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, stop for a bite, enjoy a meal, and spend time on the beach. Arriving at 11 am, we started by having breakfast.

On the menu, you can choose to have one of five dishes of which Turkish scrambled eggs, eggs royal, scrambled eggs and truffles, Turkish breakfast and watermelon — not too many choices to choose from.

Breakfast started when two baskets of bread and croissants landed on the table. Flaky croissants and fresh hot bread served with a side of butter.

Menemen is the Turkish scrambled eggs mixed with vegetables; the only plate that came really hot and enjoyable. Scrambled eggs with truffles, smells good but is too milky and too gooey. Eggs royal is a success, served hot, two poached eggs on a bed of English muffins and covered with sauce hollandaise.

So we stayed, had a drink and then decided to order lunch. Lunch is below expectations at a five stars hotel like DMaris Bay. The risotto has too many crunchy onions in it. Despite its fluffy burgers, the pizza is soaked in water. The unappetizing fries are oily and undercooked.

Good enough for a restaurant on the beach but I expected better from a hotel like DMaris Bay.
