On Union square is a small sandwich shop called “Sandwich” offering nine kinds of sandwiches. The place is neat, one table in the middle and an open kitchen...but I expected more details! Photos of the menu, the possibility of choosing your bread, a melting cheese sandwich, pastrami, probably Croque monsieur, I mean the famous sandwiches everyone knows. Instead you can choose from one of nine complicated choices: steak and salsa verde, veggies and hummus, turkey and Gouda, chicken, pork and pickles, chicken chorizo, spinach artichoke, Italian meats, sausage and eggs.
French baguette, hard and crunchy, big and very oily, the sandwiches are not appetizing to look at even before eating them. Loaded more than they should be, the chicken is watery and the hummus too bulky. Several ingredients, a dozen textures and many colors but this wasn’t enough to impress me. I personally didn’t like these sandwiches at all. To tell you the truth, I didn’t even feel the hummus.
The apple and lemon and sparkling soft drinks they have are great! At least something impressed me here.
