Blueberry Square here I come. After the opening of Blueberry Square Dbayeh, I decided to visit its restaurants one after the other in order to check what this new hub has to offer. As my love for burgers still goes strong, Let's Burger was the first place to try on the list. Driving there, I was thinking...Would it enter my Top10 list? Will it be as special as I imagine it to be?

As it's name suggest, Let's Burger is a burger joint obviously with with a wide choice of burgers among other things. They have a choice of 10 burgers, 4 starters, 3 choices of fries, 3 sandwiches for non burgerholics, desserts and beverages. As a first impression, I was hopeful. The place is beautifully designed but unfortunately this is where it stops. Although I liked a few things at Let's Burger, but nothing substantial to write home about...  Handled by a bunch of lost waiters, we waited a long time before anyone approached us.

The menu sections:

  • Let's Munch
  • Let's Not Burger
  • Let's Have Dessert
  • Let's Burger
  • Add-Adonis
  • Beverages

We ordered:

  • Stuffed Up (patty stuffed with mixed cheese, iceberg lettuce, tomato and pickles with grainy mustard mayo sauce)
  • Melting Swiss (Patty and Swiss cheese topped with fresh mushroom sauce)
  • Big Brother Burger (500g of original patty, tomato, iceberg lettuce and pickles with cocktail sauce)
  • Chicken Tenders (crispy chicken tenders served with honey mustard dip)
  • Mozzarella Chunks (breaded mozzarella cubes served with cocktail dip)

The nice looking food:

  • The mozzarella chunks are not the best I've had. The breaded cover is too thick with a prominent taste and feel
  • The chicken strips are close to being tasteless, too oily and the honey mustard sauce accompanying is not as good as a Honey Mustard should be. The mustard is too strong giving the sauce a bitter taste
  • The coleslaw salad is fresh and most importantly cold. The slices are small and easy to chew. I liked it
  • The fries are the best thing this restaurant has to offer even though their color isn't that appetizing

The burgers:

  • The meat is over cooked and over compressed. It doesn't melt under your teeth but crunches heavily
  • The American pickles used is sweet, I like it. Their taste covers other negative things around this sandwich
  • The 500g burger contains: tomatoes, pickles, lettuce and cocktail sauce.  I liked that the tomato slices are thin and that the burger is filled with sauce. It's juiciness compensates for the dryness of the meat
  • The Stuffed Up, or like others call it: "Cheese at Heart", is a good idea. A piece of meat filled with cheese like a "Cordon Bleu". The meat is fine and I like the toasting of the bread. But unfortunately I didn't like the bread itself. It comes with lettuce, tomato, pickles and grainy mustard mayo
  • The Mushroom Burger is not what I expected to eat. Again, the bread is too thick and too spongy and the mushroom sauce tastes more like strogonoff. I hate feeling the mushroom slices crunching under my teeth.

A disappointing experience. For a Burger restaurant... I expected to eat something much tastier.

The things I like:

  • The place-mats show the making of a burger - from the source to consumption: farming, vegetable harvest, baking, buns and condiments, cattle ranching, meat processing, cheese, ground beef...
  • The wooden burger platters are a nice initiative unlike the plastic materials used everywhere else around the restaurant
  • The place decoration is simple and creative. I liked the graffiti, the pending lamps, the white wood tables and outside green leather sofas. An industrial space perfectly managed
  • The black and white wooden chairs are funky
  • I loved the idea of the large 500g burger. A diameter of 15cm filled with premium ingredients good for two persons
  • Thank you for the free soft drinks refill

Thank you guys for offering us dessert on the house:

  • Chocolate Brownie Sunday (vanilla ice cream over a mouthwatering chocolate brownie topped with chocolate syrup) - Is that a brownie or a cookie? Crunchy and even burnt on the sides, I felt like I was eating an Ülker biscuit in a jar.
  • Apple Crumble (made fresh daily, topped with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce) -  Not my favorite dessert to say- it is too sweet for my taste

The minuses:

  • Welcoming is very bad… More specifically, there is no welcoming
  • I asked the waiter about the patty weight. He answered "its 200g" with a smile. Euh! It's written clearly on the menu 150g
  • I clearly asked to know if the mozzarella sticks contain garlic powder... I am still waiting until now for the answer
  • The plates are plastic. Is this funky or trendy? I felt like I was eating at a birthday party with my two-year old daughter
  • When plates were changed,  the fork and knife were left on the white place-mat, staining it. Change the forks and knives while you're at it, it's not a big deal
  • Mozzarella and chicken strips baskets are also plastic. Using plastic everywhere lowers the level of this restaurant. It makes it look cheap and childish
  • Would you enjoy a Pepsi in a plastic cup? Enough plastic! Please!

The problem is clear and is easy to be fixed:

  • The bread should be thinner or less dry. Empty it from the inside or soak it with sauce
  • The meat should definitely be less condensed, cooked less and more moist
  • Waiters should love their job, be attentive. They should be smiling and joyful
  • Change the plastic concept. It's a new idea that I didn't appreciate at all
  • The brownies recipe is to be reconsidered. Do not cut the brownies in cubes before cooking them. Cook a big one than cut it so its borders stay soft
  • Pictures on the menu are a must. Your burgers are really appetising and mouthwatering. Show them to us (We didn't know about the 500g until we saw it. The waiter described it as a thick meat and not a large one)

Let's Burger has a big problem to solve! If this burger place wants to survive, especially that it's surrounded by the finest burger providers around; LVD, Roadster, Crepaway among others, a huge improvement has to be made and quickly. A lovely decoration, beautifully presented burgers but unfortunately food that is not up to the high local standard. A lot has to be done...
