We loved the decor and coziness of Les Manoirs de Tourgéville and we enjoyed dinner at the lounge.

The hotel in a few words:

Set in a half-timbered building with annexes on 7 hectares of parkland, this refined hotel is 7 km from the sandy Plage de Deauville and its boardwalk, and 18 km from Port de Honfleur. Understated rooms with sloped ceilings or garden views offer free Wi-Fi. Some have private terraces with views of the park. Parking is complimentary. There's an elegant restaurant, and a bar with a fireplace and terrace seating. Other amenities include an indoor pool, a gym, and walking and cycling trails, as well as a spa and a cinema room.

  • A basket of bread is brought to us; fresh and crunchy buns served with Isigny butter.

Dinner is served:

  • Smoked salmon with sour cream and the same green sauce used with the Langoustine. Of premium quality, adequately oily and fatty to be enjoyed with the accompanying toast.

  • Served on a bed of algae, the oysters are way too small - nonexistent - not even enough for an appetizer.
  • The Caesar salad: I've had better, there is too much garlic, not enough sauce and the lettuce is cut too small. The chicken on the other hand is grilled correctly and therefore juicy.

  • The burger of Normandie is not your average burger. It consists of a steak mince burger, slices of Vire Andouille sausage, Pont l'Évêque cheese, and apple. Although the meat is of quality, this burger lacks taste and freshness. It's also too heavy with the dry bun. It needs something sweet, probably some chutney or ketchup.

  • Today's special is red mullet served with vegetables. It's good enough, and has a smoky flavor.

For Dessert:

  • Paris Brest; too sweet, too creamy but enjoyably crunchy. I've had better.

Good and attentive service and even though the food could be better, it's good enough for a hotel lounge. Let's hope their fine dining menu is better...
