I have tried Kaiten Beirut, located on Hamra street, and was eager to try the French version of it: All I can sat is that I am proud of my country, as the Parisian restaurant was below average.

Kaiten Japanese restaurant located on 63 Rue Pierre Charron is a couple of meters away from the famous Champs Elysee. It is supposed to be one of the finest Japanese restaurants in Paris especially for the price you are paying which is expensive and should be serving an exquisite choice of tastes and colors. I have been to the Lebanese version of Kaiten -having the same logo so I supposed it's a franchise- and loved it. So fresh, so tasty and well presented pieces in a relaxed ambiance.

At Kaiten customers can help themselves to color-coded dishes from the conveyor belt "swifting" by and order their drinks from the servers. Each customer's bill is calculated by tallying the number of empty plates stacked. Condiments of soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger are readily available on the table. Their menu is based on mixture of traditional Japanese recipes with a large selection of over 90 dishes. Food is prepared in front of the guest.

Unfortunately after a very quick dinner at Kaiten Sushi in Paris, that lasted less than an hour, I was really disappointed! It was not at all like the experience I had in Lebanon.

In two words, their sushi was even less than average. I would describe it as pieces of tasteless colors wrapped with an unappetizing rice.
