Big sized, beautifully decorated, fluffy and airy... there’s a place in Achrafieh that handcrafts Gourmet doughnuts created one at a time with four new flavors introduced every morning. It’s called "Hanson Doughnuts," and it’s open in Tabaris. I’ve wanted to try this place for so long, but unfortunately, there’s never a space to park.

Black is the color, upscale and classy, expect to pay between LL3,500 and LL7,500 to satisfy your craving. Gourmet doughnuts loaded with premium ingredients. A nice first impression, the colors, the simplicity, the calmness and the display of only three choices alongside the daily glazed doughnut.

Hanson Doughnuts cooks three new choices of donuts daily so you can taste new varieties every time you visit.

Chocolate, tender brownies, crunchy fingers, fresh lemon tart, chocolate powder, and Boston cream... the doughnuts looked so appetizing behind the bar. I started with the glazed doughnut; -even though I felt a certain firmness in the dough and would have expected it to be a bit more airy, relaxed and fluffy without the last note of chewiness,- the doughnuts are good! Big-sized, rounded, filled with air bubbles and fried to perfection creating a thick white line in the middle. The doughnut is then glazed with a thin layer of white sugar.

A doughnut looking like a tiramisu is filled with chocolate Boston cream, topped with a thick layer of glazed sugar and decorated with powdered cacao. Good quality cream, balanced textures where the chocolate adds flavor to the mix.

Strawberry glaze, a crunchy lemon tart, Nutella filling; that’s a complicated and successful mix. Ingredients helped make the dough more tender and fluffier creating a delicious doughnut.

Best for last, a giant-sized creation made with a load of Bavarian chocolate cream, crunchy white bits of chocolate, chocolate glazing and brownies to decorate its top. Big-sized, loaded, rich and tasty. I enjoyed this doughnut sandwich.

Some improvements: Music needs to be on at all times. Display should have the doughnuts names and ingredients. It's called "Bavarian Cream", not "Creme Patissiere" -creme patissiere needs to be refrigerated.

I was impressed by the quality of the doughnuts; gourmet pieces sold at 5$ each you can enjoy with a coffee on your way to work, or simply walk Beirut and stop by the doughnut artisan.
