When you reach the sign “I love Zgharta,” it’s where “Edenberg” is. “Eden” for Ehden, the village and “Berg” for burger. Edenberg is one of the most beautiful eateries I’ve seen, an American diner, passionately executed by hand. The experience is amazing from start to end, American music, two walls made of brick, design items from Route66, red leather and individual lounges. EAT decorating the right wall, “Eat rep Eat” created by hand with metal nails, metallic lanterns and a selection of old American cars surrounding the Edenberg logo.
I loved it! The white ceiling, the wooden floor, the red sofas, the non-smoking environment and the manager’s welcoming.
On the menu, start with the sharing starters, the fresh salads, the greed burgers, avidity sandwiches main courses, traditional burgers, light selection, and desserts. For the occasion, Edenberg has a fasting menu proposing a fish Saad, fish burger, crab sandwich, shrimp sandwich and fresh salmon.
I ordered:
- Speed burger: ground beef, char-grilled, aged cheddar, Emmental cheese, grilled tomatoes, iceberg lettuce, Edenberg style sauce. That an excellent burger I just discovered in Zgharta. A superb bun, light and airy. Juicy meat with intense spices. Crunchy fresh vegetables and melted cheddar cheese. Great fries you have to try.
- Tank burger: 200 grams of chorizo, aged cheddar, stuffed ground beef, char-grilled and iceberg lettuce with the Edenberg style sauce. Wow! That’s something! A thick patty stuffed with chorizo and melted cheddar cheese served on the same fresh bun and vegetables. What I love about these burgers is the strength of spices which leave pleasant after-notes in the mouth for long minutes. Simple yet intense and enjoyable.
- The road66 sandwich: beef tenderloin medallion marinated in gravy and caramelized onions with fresh mushrooms, Emmental cheese, and pickles. Imagine the softest bun ever stuffed with a slice of tender Brazilian meat. Fine sweet pickles, soft cheese, and the signature sauce. Bravo chef.
Served on a wooden rectangular board, the sandwiches look upscale with an excellent value for money. Edenberg uses the finest ingredients to create a unique burger when you don’t expect it up in the village.
Let’s dessert: The chocolate cake, baked a la minute with vanilla ice cream on the side.
I have a new favorite in Zgharta: Edenberg, the American diner. Jeskar, the manager, works and handles the shop very professionally.
