I’ve been here the first time when I discovered the burger... came back to enjoy it again with one of the sexiest risottos I’ve ever tasted... and today, accompanied by my friends, we went for dinner where I had the pleasant chance to try East Village’s drinks. Amazing drinks to say the least; good looking, richly aromatic and intensely flavorful. I’ve tried seven of them and loved them all. Each has a certain particularity, a certain touch, and happy feel. My drink was the Muscovy mojito made of light rum, unrefined sugar, fresh lime juice, and mint.
Poke tuna will make you scream! Spicy like you don’t expect it to be, pleasantly crunchy crumbs mixed with fresh tuna cubes. The shrimp ceviche served in a glass and bathing in a juice of the lemon.
You have to try the salads! Wonderful salads, so fresh, so crisp, so juicy I side out. Every ingredient adds a touch of happiness to your mood. The pines, the cherry tomatoes, the frisé lettuce, and lemon.
Try the cheese casseroles; served hot with homemade chips, the melting cheese tickles your buds drawing a smile on your face. The food of love and happiness if I may call it!
Oh My God! The food is exceptional! I’ve rarely had something as good in Beirut. Third visit, third amazement and will come again and again. I can’t but express my surprise about the food I had tonight: the risotto that will make your heart skip a beat. The meat that melts like butter. “THE” burger! Lebanon’s Best! The duck madness. The crunchy fries -try the one with truffle oil- and don’t forget the fish -without the chips-.
Pleasantly surprised more and more every time! Nothing more needs to be said: it’s amazement guaranteed.
When I thought the experience was done, I was offered their homemade ice cream; light bodied, strongly flavorful, not fatty and tasty at the same time. I didn’t know that East Village does their own ice cream.
