To combat obesity crisis, Cadbury has changed its original Dairy Milk chocolate bar recipe in a bid to launch a “diet” version.
For the first time since 1905, the brand makes a change and each bar now contains 30 percent less sugar, from 56 grams to 39 grams. This new product will be up right next to the original bars, giving customers more options to help them manage their sugar consumption levels accordingly.
Although the sugar content is lower the amount of calories in the new bar has remained the same. A spokesperson for Cadbury explains that the creation of the bar wasn’t an “easy process,” and required the effort of 20 scientists, nutritionists and chocolatiers to develop a low-sugar version without using artificial sweeteners.
