I was meeting my friends in Mar Mikhael and we decided to have breakfast at Memory Lane. This wide restaurant occupying the heart of the nightlife street is popular and I have never been to it yet...

Don't consider this as a detailed review but more as an introduction to the place. Check out the photos which I had plenty of time to take.

The restaurant is indeed wide and diversified. Metal, wood, flowers and design items spread in different levels. The bar or the private dining table, the game corner or the rectangular tables, choose to sit where you want according to your convenience.

As a first impression, waiters are not too welcoming and definitely need a paper to write down the orders. I felt like they're not ready to open that early. The menu is divided into three sections, the drinks, main items and a leaflet for breakfast.

Organic eggs, poached or scrambled. Omelet, Lebanese platter, crepe ham and cheese, crepe Nutella, crepe maple syrup banana, fruit salad and granola.

Breakfast:

  • The Kaak Zaatar is like nothing you've ever had before. A round Kaaka covered with sesame is filled with a light juicy mix of tomatoes and fresh wild thyme and mixed along cherry tomatoes cut in quarters. A flavorful heart of Zaatar and sweet tomatoes, kind of a cocktail with light crunchiness of the Kaaka. It is indeed good and repeatable.
  • The poached eggs on another hand could have been better. Two slices of share bread are dry topped with two poached eggs that are a bit overcooked served with half a sausage cut in two and a lettuce. Making it better the bread should have been spread with a sauce, the eggs cooked less and the sausages served in a more appetizing way. Half a sausage only? Why not prepare a Hollandaise sauce to poor on top?

I didn't feel welcomed, didn't hear any music playing, air conditioning unit was off, service is strange. Anyway I'll come back for lunch or dinner later.
