Modern and chic, The Gramercy Kitchen open on 17th and 3rd is here to make you happy before starting your day. With glass facades surrounding it, light blue colors and fresh wood, the place makes one want to finish breakfast and stay for lunch. I loved the fresh vibes from the minute I walked in, the coldness of the air, the light coming from all sides and the notes of happiness and positivity were felt all around. Like a restaurant in the countryside, The Gramercy Kitchen is the village down in the city.

It’s amazing how the colors are balanced, blue leather sofas, beige wood tables, a grey floor and white tiles. Light is awesome!

Food looks great but unfortunately doesn’t taste as good as it looks. Sunnyside up eggs on a bed of avocado cubes, which are too cold for the sandwich, on a bed of chewy bread which would have been better buttered and served warm. A lack of passion is clear!

The pancakes are dull, undercooked and lack some flavors. Coconut on top doesn’t add the value I expected while their heart is too spongy and sticky.

Eggs Benedict, on another hand, served on a bed of thickly cut smoked salmon are good! Two portions on a bed of English muffins and a thick hollandaise sauce. I liked the hollandaise and its subtle acidity, the quality of the hash browns, the chewiness of the bun and the level of cooking. Two eggs poached to perfection with the runny yolk.

Good quality yogurt with strawberries and blueberries topped with sweet honey.

In such a positive and bright place, a passionate cook is missing. I expected the food to be better and I’m sure it can be; using the best ingredients, they should be prepared with more love.
