Memorable! Simply memorable! Pass the reception and prepare yourself to be amazed! A magical place from the French renaissance takes you on a journey in history. Handled by a very professional staff, they greet you, smile at you, ask you a hundred times if you need help, roam around your table for a coffee refill while you enjoy breakfast in style.
Under a ceiling made of gold and replicating blue skies, sit and relax. A fluffy green carpet, wooden bars, red leather tables, and yellow chandeliers; breakfast during the days of the French revolution in a space oozing class and finesse.
Walk around the buffet, enjoy the food, appreciate the bread baskets and fruit displays, fill your plate with hot dishes then approach the window for eggs. I was welcomed by Tarek Ibrahim, a Lebanese chef working in Paris for the last twenty years. Like many of us “proud” Lebanese he was watching the news way too much... we had a quick chat, he smiled, took note of my videos and promised to watch the “true” Lebanon as not seen on television.
Eggs Benedict! Two of them giant eggs, poached to perfection on a bed of smoked salmon and two English muffins. Crepe with a spread of peanut butter and Nutella. The French all-time favorite jambon-beurre sandwich. A flaky croissant. A selection of cheeses, yogurt and fruits... I was enchanted and happy to be here.
More food! You have to try the chocolate cake, juicy and sticky with an intense flavor of dark chocolate. The cannelé, the cakes, the French crepes, and the list goes on and on.
Details I loved: food display is neat and generous. Even though big and touristic, you feel unique with personalized service. An old hotel yet very well managed and maintained. Excellent espresso!
Two thumbs up! Worth every penny of the 45€/person price tag.
