A three door shop with glass facades and a view onto a busy street, this Italian restaurant is surely one of Berlin's finest. Bocca Di Bacco serves some fine specialties from the land of fashion and speedy cars. Italy at its finest, a restaurant spread on two levels welcomes you for lunch and dinner in a cozy and calm atmosphere oozing finesse and class.

Housed in one of the finest buildings in the Friedrichstraße, the restaurant features a vibrant combination of late nineteenth-century elegance and design-oriented Italian architectural sensibilities. The inside was designed by the Tuscan interior decorator Stefano Viviani. Classic Italian cuisine, cordial hospitality and exquisite wines set the scene for a unique experience on both a culinary level and a business level.

Dimmed lights even for lunch, some candles lit at the bar, a wooden floor and an open wine display, the restaurant also hosts a special table that can welcome up to 14 guests at a time lit with designer bulbs hanging from the ceiling and a wine cellar protected from the restaurant's warmth with one a large glass front.

Round and rectangular tables covered with white table cloths, lots of yellow lights and calm. Music plays in the far background while you hear people murmur softly. White walls are decorated with black and white paintings inside the restaurant and other colorful ones at the entrance. Black chairs surround the tables on a stone floor.

The menu is made of white card and a strip of orange and proposes four antipasti, two soups, five pasta dishes, three fish plates, four meat plates and five desserts. Every day they have a special suggestion.

  • Bread to start as the waiter serves olive oil along with it. A tender bread with a light crunchy envelope. San Pellegrino, Aqua Panna and some green olives. Asking for white wine we were offered a good bottle, Ca'Marcanda Vistamare 2013, Toscana.
  • I rarely order soup but felt like doing so today. A cauliflower soup, with a light creamy color, full bodied with a nice texture, toasted flat bread and a cherry tomato adding a touch of color. I loved it!
  • Salmon with a sesame crust and served with fennel salad on the side. Lightly grilled salmon preserving its fresh color, sesame makes it special and different and the fennel adds texture and sweetness. An excellent combination.
  • Burrata, as good as you'd expect. It needs a sprinkle of salt and pepper for more enjoyment.
  • Pappardelle (thick pasta twice the size of tortellini) mixed in a creamy sauce with fresh white mushrooms and chunks of meat ragout.
  • Mussel spaghetti, a generous portion, pasta cooked al dente, lightly oiled; I would say bravo chef.
  • Penne Arabiata: Lots of cherry tomatoes, long penne, thick and with a small hole in the middle, a generous plate mixed with black olives. Well spiced, the plate has some enjoyable acidic notes, flavors of salt and pepper and lots of love put into it.

Dessert: Hazelnut parfait with amareno cherry and amaretti biscuits. It looks nice, feels good and has interesting textures... It is good, but too sweet for me. Strongly sweet creamy ice nougat with crunchy hazelnuts and crumbling biscuits, cherry juice and raspberries. A wonderful creation.

All of the above for only €45 per person including wine! Perfect!

Delicious food, good service, very clean place, nice details, pleasant ambiance. A restaurant I'll surely recommend to my friends visiting Berlin.
