Order delicious bites and sandwiches, followed by mouthwatering desserts on the terrace of this magnificent black box in the cozy area of Rabieh, Lebanon.

Black Pepper, is the grocery shop in Rabieh that the locals have been looking for. The idea of "Dukan" (small neigbourly shop that sells everything in small quantities). Black Pepper is considered by the locals as the high-end professional provider of fine goods rarely found around any where close and maybe in the country. Owned by Jean Paul El Ramy, and managed by Jean Boustany, Black Pepper is what Rabieh, and the villages around where long waiting for. The two floor set up has everything you need.

Set in an open space that resembles a vast windmill warehouse with its high ceiling, iron details, dangling lamps and rustic wooden stands with wheels and shelves that remind us of old crates, also reflecting the feel of the old town streets of England with its lantern lamps... The inviting venue houses and painstakingly displays a rich assortment of foodstuff for the selective clientele. The place, although unique in style and variety of products, acts like the ‘dukan’ modern shop of its vicinity. They have a fresh bread prepared hourly with ingredients cut instantly from the fridges inside. From herbs, chips, meat, wines, drinks or any imported item you crave for that not available on the market, Black Pepper has it for you. As for their desserts, they are one of the finest in town, competing closely with Pate A Choux and La Mie Dore.

The best part is that Black Pepper certainly capitalizes on the “too lazy to cook” crowd by offering an extensive selection of daily "Plat du Jour". It has an in-house bakery and patisserie that resembles a jewelry shop with its variety of mouthwatering assortments of cakes and cookies. You can stand and admire for hours. If you’re tired, waiting for your order or at the long line at the cashier, a comfortable sofa awaits. Yes, a maxi English style leather sofa in a grocery shop.

In addition to that, Black Pepper has a small cozy terrace where they serve sandwiches, hot bites, quiches, salads, tarts and desserts. Everything is simple though very tasty for the seekers of calm and peace in the neighborhood without having to go down to Beirut.

I've been there many times already, tried a wide variety of tasty food on their  menu that I really liked. Try their salmon bagel with melted brie or their special mozarrella and tomato sandwich that comes on a tasty buguet soaked in pesto sauce...

Like a toy store for adults with a fine taste for food, it’s the kind of place you should definitely indulge in for your home and food needs. Black Pepper also offers catering services for your dinner parties, no matter how big or small, as well as home delivery.
