Bite-sized Decadence: The Most Expensive Chocolate Truffle Out There

Valentine's may be over, but let's ponder over this for a second... La Madeline au Truffle – the world's most expensive chocolate truffle. This might just have been the ultimate seal of affection if money is no object for Valentine's or beyond.

At $250 per piece, La Madeline au Truffle is the brainchild of Danish chocolatier Fritz Knipschildt who immigrated to the US in 1996. “It starts with a decadent 70 percent Valrhona dark chocolate, heavy cream, sugar, truffle oil and vanilla as the base for the rich decadent ganache,” explained Knipschildt on his website.
