There’s a restaurant with Italian vibes called BigLove and it’s full of love vibes as well! It feels like a kitchen with cupboards all over the place loaded with jars, kitchen utensils, and cooking ingredients. When you hear people speaking Italian, enjoying their meal, know that you’re here for a treat. Warm lights, cozy vibes, and a bizarre menu, I wished I could taste entirely. Gluten-free items, pasta, pizza, pancakes, and desserts. The truffle egg Benedict and pancakes caught my attention.
Arrive to a glass vitrine decorates with flowers and fresh greenery. Inside lights coming down from the ceiling, wooden tables, a bar, and a ceiling painted in white. You can see the pizza oven and open kitchen at the end of the restaurant.
Three great looking plates... let’s taste; the Black truffle Benedict looks superb but unfortunately needs more flavor. The black truffles are empowering all the other ingredients and then comes a very thick chewy bread. The hollandaise is not as acidic and intense as it should be.
Now the pancakes, one thick pancake -feeling like bread- topped with sunny side up eggs with balsamic reduction; it’s an interesting mix but not the pancake quality I expected. The avocado toast made of pain de campagne, Parma ham and poached egg is like any other sandwich you find on the streets. A bit too salty, and the bread is soaked not crunchy.
The table next to us were queuing outside and had a cup of coffee from the neighbors; four waiters, one after the other approached them to say “it’s not allowed”. It was so annoying and so unprofessional that they finally left; I felt like leaving too. How unwelcoming and unprofessional. Isn’t “Biglove” the name? Where’s the love in all of this? They were ready to order coffee, why approach them four times?
I loved the place when I first walked in... food is overrated, and the incident with the table next to us made me want to run away. I won’t be coming back.
