The Newly Opened Steigenberger Hotel, Business Bay Dubai

Spending the week at the Steigenberger hotel on Business Bay, our stay started with lunch at their all day dining restaurant. Entering the lobby, you can't but approach for a sneak peak at the beautiful buffet taking over the center space of this beautiful restaurant.

Mirrors on the right and mirrors on the left, the hanging light bulbs coming down from the ceiling make the space look like a ballroom. Neat, clean and classy, set under a high ceiling, the restaurant inspires class and finesse.

Golden colors, metallic jars set all the way up to the ceiling, designer glass on the sides, a floor covered with wood and relaxing chairs. We'll be also having breakfast here tomorrow morning.

Facing the restaurant's entrance is the main pasta cooking area. Prepared live, the different choices of pasta can be mixed with ground beef, vegetables or shrimp. The salad choices are beautiful and colorful. To the right is the viennoiseries corner and the fresh German bread. Down the hall you can find the dessert island as well as the open kitchen with a dozen choices of hot meals.

Steamed seabass with lemongrass cream, steamed vegetables, sautéed potatoes, ratatouille, beef stroganoff with beetroot, basmati rice, chicken briyani and lentil soup.

The desserts consist of fruit tarts, mille feuille, fruit cake and chocolate cake, baklava and panna cotta.

The service is great, the food is good. I had the stroganoff with its tender meat and light sauce, the Lebanese bites lack some crunchiness, the salads are all a bit too creamy, but the pasta is good, well cooked and flavorful. Before moving to the main plates we were offered a lemon sorbet called Trou-Normand from France.

The attention to detail is clear. A lemon quarter decorated with cloves, lemon is added to drinks, cutlery is changed by the minute, a table napkin is wrapped around a spoon fork and knife, sparkling and waiting to start your meal and waiters can't stop smiling gently.

The desserts are good looking and one can't deny that they are freshly prepared with an balanced sweetness and offer appropriate flavors.

I enjoyed my lunch, that was priced at around $40/person.
