Beautifully lit with light fresh colors, decorated with light wood and accompanied by smooth jazz music, five nights at Artus Hotel were unforgettable. A light blue facade, a spacious lobby, a welcoming and smiley staff, a warm room... It's got it all!

Artus is located in the heart of the action. On Saint Germain, on Rue de Buci, meters from Quartier Andre des Art, around Notre Dame Church and the culinary quarters, close to my favorite creperie in Paris is this hotel I'll surely be coming back to. Nowhere could be better suited for this 6th arrondissement Parisian address than this lively neighbourhood, the birthplace of some of the main modern schools of thought and a hub of artistic energy. The hotel's retro-chic style, designed by architect Yann Frédéric Marie, adopts deep and dense contrasting colours, abundant wood and elegant furniture...

A decade characterised by the films of Jacques Tati, the fifties are brought to life with fun and humorous references to the era dotted throughout the Artus Hotel. From enveloping armchairs to straight-lined dressers and brightly coloured furniture, discover all the charm of the anti-conformist architecture of this Parisian address.

Whether you visit as a couple or on business, for one night or many, the Artus Hotel is the perfect Parisian getaway. An attentive team awaits you at reception, relaxation and conviviality in the lounge and in the rooms themselves, you can enjoy a special moment all to yourself looking out over the rooftops of Paris...

Sitting underground having breakfast the morning before we left, I started remembering this beautiful week which started on Monday morning at 7am. We asked for an early check-in and got it easily, the room is spacious enough with a shower and a closed toilet, fast internet is complementary, an LCD screen with enough HD channels to fill your time and a lobby which made me want to stop once or twice a day to contemplate the fine decor and art.

At breakfast, a room built around three colors, light blue black and white. A small buffet facing the nine tables filed with a set of cutlery, a napkin and design coffee cups. The corner is where I usually sit, calm and serene, away from the city's chaos, I really felt good.

The 27 rooms are all decorated in vibrant styles, creating a special atmosphere where colour is king. Pride of place is given to the 1950s, with authentic posters from the era, sumptuous furniture, yellows, reds, purples and greens... It burgeons with retro hues and fabrics. From our Classic rooms to the Exclusive Suite on the top floor of the hotel, every room is dedicated to the folie of the era that was so prevalent in the films of Jacques Tati from which the Artus Hotel takes its inspiration. Despite this touch of vintage chic, every room is fully equipped with all the latest mod cons.

The only negative I would highlight is that the hotel is having a facelift. Painting, cleaning and no elevator; we were not informed about it! Three floors up, three times a day with no elevator. I wouldn't want to imagine an older person, or someone with a broken leg doing it. Every morning, work starts before 9am which wasn't too pleasant. Despite that little detail everything was good.

Now back to breakfast. Flaky croissants, cheese, fresh fruits, daily bread, scrambled eggs, dried fruits and a tasty coffee. I enjoyed a good start of day.

  • The room; a relaxing bed, fluffy pillows, water with good pressure, enough lights, a working desk, a closet to host your clothes and shopping items, a mini bar and the main advantage is that there are only three rooms on each floor. If you're a group, it will feel like a large suit.
  • Staff: extremely welcoming and well trained. A continuous smile makes you feel good.

Conclusion: Recommended.
