Breakfast started with black Americano coffee. A tasty boost. The breakfast tower followed, including three jars of choices including Angelina chestnut cream, butter and three croissants.
Before you start open the chestnut cream pot and dig in. Oh my goodness! Orgasmic! A small pot of chestnut cream transports you into lala land... It even has the power to make your eyes close; yes instinctively. A smooth cream caresses each and every one of your palatial buds activating sensations your body rarely felt. A must try!
Oh la la... The hot chocolate, an Angelina world signature is surely one of the best I've ever had. Served with whipped cream on the side this hot chocolate is creamy and firm, yet smooth. Lightly sweet, chocolate is what matters the most keeping it intense and rich. A few have succeeded to do it the same way.
The eggs Benedict landed on a table, a small portion served on a small plate, a plate that inspires class. One thick slice of white bread, lightly toasted and left to absorb the hollandaise sauce; on top are two bacon slices, lightly pan-fried, two mini poached eggs and the hollandaise sauce. It’s simple yet intense in flavors. I have had better but never this way.
The pain perdu, one large slice of square bread cut in half is left to soak in milk and butter. Heavy it is but full of taste. A firm border, a molten heart, caramel sauce and sugar. It's not what I expected but I enjoyed it.
You won't understand until you try it. I'm so excited to have Angelina in Beirut and hoping the experience would be just as good.
And now comes the interesting part: the Mont Blanc. Close your eyes and get ready to be transported. A ball made of a layer of meringue, whipped cream in the middle and a cover made of chestnut vermicelli. The intensity and taste, the refined flavors, the equilibrium of textures... That's the world's finest Mont Blanc which none have managed yet to replicate.
The special edition with passion fruit is even better... If the Mont Blanc is a man-made creation and makes you dream, the passion fruit one surely comes from the heavens above will only make you moan again and again.
The Mille Feuille is deceiving, way too deceiving especially after having the Mont Blanc. It’s chewy, not flaky enough, too creamy and heavy. Not something to order.
Enough said! It's a dream come true.
