This place... the shiny stainless steel, the blue metal strips, the big glass windows... I was enchanted before even walking in. A typical American diner like you see in the movies, the long rectangular space decorated with lots of reflective metal surfaces, a bar and several couches. Handled by two older people and two waitresses, they welcome you in with a smile, send coffee your way and let you relax for a pleasant experience ahead.
A bar displaying liquor bottles at the entrance, cookies and muffins in a display fridge, the long bar where customers can have a coffee on their own or a quick bite for the road exactly like you see in the movies. Music from the seventies and eighties, dimmed yellow lights, positive vibes, everything in here felt good.
Probably the best egg sandwich I’ve ever had! Two soft whole wheat pain de mie, thick ham and very thin fried egg with melted white cheese. That is so simple and so good! The flavors stay around the mouth for hours, the softness of the ingredients, the smoothness of the several textures blending perfectly together.
A simple waffle with two slices of ham and maple syrup on the side. Plates at this diner are not bulky like the Americans do it. A waffle, ham on the side and add maple syrup at your convenience. It’s about that fluffy waffle, good quality ham and lightly sweet maple syrup. A great combination.
Service in here is impeccable. You’re asked for coffee by the minute, eyes follow you while you eat relaxedly without feeling harassed. Clean and neat, the plates seem fresh as though never used before, the tables are cleaned promptly and the attention to service makes you enjoy the movements of the staff and start your day positively.
Try the blueberry muffin, cut in half and toasted, served with salted butter on the side and best enjoyed with maple syrup or ham. Loaded with blueberries, the muffin is warm, lightly fluffy and super nice!
The pancakes don’t even need maple! Melting chocolate enlivens it inside out, enjoyably fluffy, three of them stacked one on top of the other. Yummy pancakes!
