Today and after four long years of not writing a review about my favorite fruit destination, I come back to "AKIKI Fruits & Vegetables" nestled on Antelias' internal road. As we all know the place sells fresh marvels from across our land and from abroad. I love it for its freshness, attention to detail, professionalism and choice.
I can hardly describe how proud I was discovering the decorative and display changes that have happened in the last year or so; a fantastic expansion of the place displaying fresh fruits and vegetables that results in it looking like a colorful painting. Mouneh, juices, organic produce and natural bites in all colours and shapes.
First of all let me explain that Akiki has a wide variety of imported items but also and most importantly a wider one of locally grown fruits and vegetables which makes this shop a direct supporter of our national farmers that struggle daily to sell their products.
We all know that most people believe the prices here differ from most shops, and I agree! But I firmly believe this increase in rate is justified. Whenever you buy a kilo of any fruit, for instance, paying probably 30% more, expect to enjoy the whole kilo since none of it is wasted while remaining fresh for the entire week. Fresher, cleaner and tastier with a professional service justifies the difference. Believe me, if you think of it this way you will realize that it ends up to be the same.
Also and most importantly in our healthy and organic world, the massive choice of freshly squeezed natural juices makes it the place to be. My favorite of all and the most beneficial one is the pomegranate juice. You can also enjoy a healthy treat by ordering a fresh fruit cocktail and enjoy gluten-free artisan baked goods like the Oh Bakehouse brand now available in store.
I now understand what keeps Akiki the number one supplier of freshness.
